When designing websites normally choices are restricted to fonts that are available on most users’ computer systems.
So which fonts are installed on most computers? Your best bets are the ones that come with the Internet Explorer (MSIE) browser and the Windows and Macintosh operating systems. For the last few years, the MSIE fonts have been installed on almost every new Windows and Macintosh computer, so they are your best “cross-platform” bet.

| NOTE: Some older browsers may not always render characters properly. Netscape 4 for instance sometimes will improperly display a named code, while it will display the numbered code correctly. Be sure to test to make sure codes display properly in the desired browsers. | |||
